Tri-County Called to Irishtown Nature Park

In the early evening of January 15th, Tri-County Ground Search and Rescue was called to the Irishtown Nature Park by Codiac RCMP in response to a lost hiker. A local resident with considerable experience in the park had left the trails on the north side of the reservoir and became disoriented. Fortunately, park staff and RCMP located the subject as the team was deploying and before the adverse weather cause the subject any injury. A total of 18 team members responded to the operation.

This event serves as a reminder that even the most routine outing can turn into an emergency situation very quickly.
